Md. Shariful Islam received the B.Sc. (Hons.) and M.Sc. degrees from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (formerly the Department of Applied Physics, Electronics and Communication Engineering), Islamic University, Kushtia-7003, Bangladesh, in 1999 (examination held in 2001) and 2000 (examination held in 2003), respectively. He earned the Ph.D. degree from the same university in 2016. He joined the Department of Information and Communication Technology, Islamic University, Kushtia-7003, Bangladesh, as a Lecturer in September 2004. He is currently serving as a Professor in the same department. Prof. Islam has published more than 30 research articles in reputed journals and national and international conference proceedings. His research interests include wireless communications, image processing, and integral imaging-based 3D display technology.
Research on cellular wireless communication systems, 4G/5G/6G networks, OFDM, NOMA, MIMO systems, path loss modelling, and communication channel analysis.
Research on integral imaging-based three-dimensional display technology, depth resolution enhancement, viewing angle improvement, and optical imaging systems.
Research on image processing techniques, pattern recognition, computational imaging, and visual analysis.
